The Economic Commission for Asia and the Far East of the United Nations has urged member countries to strengthen the tourist enterprise and to welcome world tourists to the Far East. Responding to the above call, our Minister of communications, Dr. Shen Yi, with the authorization of our government proclaimed〝1961 as Visit the Republic of China Year.〞The project was emphasized by the issue of a set of 〝Taiwan Scenery Stamps〞with four famous scenic spots in Taiwan.
