In response to President Chiang Kai-shek's call for a Chinese Cultural Renaissance Movement, a set of Famous Ancient Chinese Porcelain Postage Stamps, reproducing five masterworks of Chinese porcelain of the Ching dynasty, was released. Carefully selected from the collection of the National Palace Museum, these five masterpieces appearing on the stamps are as follows: 1.00 Vase in the shape of gourd with decoration of grapes and a squirrel eating grapes. The inscription on the bottom of the piece indicates that the ware was being made during the reign of Yung Cheng (1723-1735 A.D.) 2.00 Covered jar in hexagonal with decoration of landscape, symbolizing long life.Inscription on the bottom of the piece indicates that the ware was being made during the reign of Kang Hsi (1662-1722 A.D.) 2.50 Watering pot, with decoration of chrysanthemum petals. Inscription on the bottom of the piece indicates that the ware was being made during the reign of Yung Cheng. 5.00 Flat vase with five openings, decorated with of clouds and dragon. Inscription on the bottom indicates that the ware was being made during the reign of Chien Lung (1736-1795 A.D.) 8.00 Covered jar with decoration of children playing. Inscription on the bottom indicates that the ware was being made during the reign of Chien Lung.
