Chao Meng-fu (1254-1322 A.D.), member of the Sung imperial family, resided in Chekiang. During the Yuan Dynasty (1280-1368 A.D.), he served as a court scholar, but fame came from his calligraphy and paintings, both of which have been studied and patterned after by artists of later generations.
