The first liquefied natural gas receiving terminal is located in Yung-An Hsiang of Kaohsiung Hsien in southern Taiwan. The constuction of the terminal started in September 1984, on 70 hectares of reclaimed land, and the total area covers 300 hectares including the harbor. An underground gas trunkline network 360 kilometers in length connects the receiving terminal to the northern and southern parts of Taiwan, the entire project is a significant task. The completion of the project will help environmental protection and further upgrade the quality of our lives.
