For Stamp collectors in south Taiwan to have an opportunity to appreciate the exhibits which were awarded bronze medals and higher in the 10th Asian International Philatelic Exhibition 1996, as well as the collections invited from Japan, Korea and Singapore, Kaohsiung International Stamp Exhibition in Honour of The Centennial of the Chinese Postal Service will be held from December 21st to 27th, 1996 at Kaohsiung Chung Cheng Martial Arts Arena. To celebrate this philatelic event, this Directorate will release a commemorative souvenir sheet, which will be printed on the New Year's Greeting Souvenir Sheet (Issue of 1996), with purple Chinese characters 「郵政百週年高雄國際郵展紀念」and「85年12月21日至27日」 overprinted. Six additional perforations were made on the top as well as bottom of the stamp design. The Kaohsiung International Stamp Exhibition Souvenir Sheet will go on sale when the exhibition opens on Dec. 21, 1996.
By-issues: (I)First Day Cover in large size to be sold at NT 2.00 appiece, (2)Pre-cancelled First Day Cover affixed with souvenir sheet to be sold at NT$35.00 apiece. Cachet: Cachet: A Special cachet will be used at all the pos offices throughout the country and the temporary post office at the Venue froml December 21st to 27th, 1996.
