(Def.114.1~114.4) It has been 17 years since this Directorate General of Posts issued the high denomination National Flower postage stamps on May, 20, 1979, using the plum as the design. To enable the public to pay higher postage and to allow for stamp design variety, this Directorate will issue, on February 14, 1997, a set of four postage stamps, the design of which depicts the traditional Chinese octagonal window with dragons circling two carps in the center, These stamps, in denominations of NT$50, 6D, 70, and 100, were designed by Lee Kuang-chi by referring to the window patterns on Longsan Temp1e. (Def.114.5~114.6) This Directorate continued to issue a set of two Dragons Circling Two Carps Postage Stamps for the public to pag higher postage. The design, based on the window patterns at a very significant historical site-the Longsan Temple in Lugang , is a Chinese octagonal window with dragons circling two carps in the center. The outer frame of the window is painted with flowers.
